Paint

This journal page, like all the others, is done with pitt pens

Twilight Poster

This is the Christmas present I made for my friend, Liz. She, like myself, is a Twilight fan so i tried to take all of the covers of the Twilight Saga and combine them to make one picture. I know that there are major differences but that's OK. I used acrylic paints to make it.

Wine

Toward the top of the bottle, there's kinda of an olive green color. That's because when you look through the real bottle it was olive green toward the top and black at the bottom. The real bottle is actually thinner and taller than in this picture suggests but who cares about perfect?

Cupcakes

These are cupcakes made with a marshmallow and powdered sugar fondant and frosting on top.
The Elephant, I know, is purple. When we dyed the fondant black we mixed it in by kneeding it and it turned out to be more of a purple color than gray. But Aydan (my one-year-old Nephew) specifically stated that he wanted purple elephants so that's what he got lol jk

Christmas Gift Doodles

These are for my two guy friends. I made them for Christmas and they even have little Popsicle stick easels to rest on. And I have, of course, doodled on the easels too!

Wildy Waving

This is for the Zentanlge challenge: waves. I know this isn't what they meant. They meant waves, as in, the ocean. But I thought this was a cute play on words...I used my new set of pitt pens (48 colors) to put in the color. I got the set for my birhtday (Dec. 15th) and was very excited to use them.

Peter's Home and Gardens

Peter, Peter pumpkin eater,
Had a wife but couldn't keep her.
Put her in a pumpkin shell,
And there he kept her very well.

This is a Make Believe Monday challenge, to illustrate this poem. I thought that I would work on my Pumpkin architecture. I think it turned out nice. Although I don't care for what I did with the stem.

Bubbly Fun

This is the second card I made for my mom so she would have to give up the cards she received in a trade. I tried to make the bubbles look transparent but it's harder to see on some of them. It was actually rather hard for me to gets used to the idea that I had to draw over my previous patterns so it looked transparent when they overlapped. But I think I'm OK with them.

Santa

My mom signed up for a Zentangle trade a while ago and realized that she had passed the dead line and needed to send cards when she only had one of three ready. She was going to send some card that had been sent to her by someone else but I told her that I would just make the other tow for her. This is one of them. The other one is still WIP.

Full Page Zentangle (Butterflies)

This is a full page zentangle inspired by my best friend's and mom's zentangles. I heard that my mom was going to try and do a zentangle that was huge so I thought it would be really cool if I tried to do one too. I thought it would be really cool if it was a scene with butterflies in it and this is what it turned out to be!

Zen Butterfly

This is a coloring page that I printed out and thought would be cool if I Zentangled it. I was right!

Musical Zen

This is for the Zen Challenge "musical". I drew it on a blue piece of paper from a Big Scratch Pad from Alco.

Little Zen Page

This is a page from my Lil' Chub Notebook. I was kinda bored so I filled one of those little pages. The sad thing is that it took me forever to draw it :)

Jade

This lovely fairy (or faerie), Jade, is one that I drew from Make-Believe Mondays. I searched day and night (or maybe just an hour) for the perfect name of this little creature of mine. Jade was the only name that really seemed to fit her. I wouldn't suggest looking at her when she's big. When she's small she looks nicer cuz you can't see all of her imperfections. :) And here's her poem to go with her:

She was scrubbing the floors when a thought came to mind.

“My sword play's the best the best of any other kind.”

She wondered, “Why do servant's work? I know I can do so much more.

I know I could fight the evil pixies and help us fairies win the war.”

A long and terrible battle was waging across the land.

She longed to go help them, she knew she could lend a hand.

She found her father's armor and tried it on for size.

It felt a little funny, it wouldn't win the beauty prize.

But it was stronger than the Elven borreel.

A metal only found in the land of Contanurborasticalseel.

Now only to find her perfect sword she would settle for only the best.

She looked for the one her grandfather gave her (after he'd been laid to rest).

She rode her steed-like mouse who'd been faithful all these years.

Now the only thing she had to do was wipe her mother's tears.

“I'll be back next year, don't you worry about me.

I'll come back without a scratch, just you wait and see.”

And when she flew off to fight for the King,

Her mother felt so proud like when Jade got her wings.

Jade fought beside the other men and new friends she did make.

She sent back a letter almost everyday for her parents' sanity's sake.

The day she came back the town had a celebration,

The gave hugs and kisses and looked up with admiration.

Jade told stories to children about strange animals she saw,

They all gasped aloud when she described an eagle's claw.

And the more she grew older the more stories she could tell,

For the King now trusted only her to guard his family well.

She became the country's hero when she sacrificed her life,

For a servant boy the Pixies took from a little old shoe-makers wife.

Her name became known far and wide, “Jade the Protector of All.”

And to think she started as a servant who cleaned the floors in the hall.

A Zen Sun

This is my card for the 1st Zentangle challenge, "Spikey". I started with the spike zentanlges and then I thought of putting the face in the middle. However, no one in the house could remember what genre of art it was called. But after a while of searching Google, I was able to find a face that I liked and tried to copy their amazing sun face. I like my sun better.

Lighthouse

This is the picture that I painted for my sister as a Christmas present. We're going shopping soon and hopefully I'll be able to buy a nice picture frame right under her nose. There are certain things that bother me about it but as a whole, I think she'll like it.

EDM #1: Shoe

Here is my wonderful Airwalk shoe that I have come to adore. They're more comfortable than Crocs in my personal opinion. I get a lot of comments everytime I wear them because they're so odd looking. But I love them. Sadly, their life is slowly coming to an end. But I will have this drawing in rememberance of them.

Penelope the Monster

I have written on original poem to accompany this marvelous creature that I have drawn and dubbed "Penelope"

Penelope always was a tiny thing,

Barely tall enough to talk to the Elf King.

Only 9 feet tall and 11 inches high,

She's a whole third of the size of her baby brother, Guy.

But that night was the night, her size wouldn't matter.

She was going to the ball. Maybe it was she, the prince would flatter.

She took out her favorite scarf, the pink and sparkley one,

And her skin had looked especially green when she got all her makeup done.

She sharpened her teeth to a very nice point.

She tried to look pretty only to, herself, disappoint.

On the way to the ball she thought in her mind,

Can't I look pretty just once?” But no change did she find.

When she arrived at the palace she reluctantly did walk,

Up to the Prince and they started to talk.

They talked about everything from light bulbs to dogs,

and she left that night singing, and dancing with frogs.

But she found the next morning the prince was to marry,

The most beautiful girl,” said her cousin named Gary.

That won't be me,” she sulked in her room.

I'm just a little monster whose beauty will never bloom.”

But that very next day as she got out of bed,

She heard a horse's clip-clop and she thought it was Uncle Ed.

Someone knocked on the door and Penelope was called.

There stood the prince! Right there in her hall!

He took her by the hand while they walked in the garden,

And he asked her to marry him and she said, “WHAT?! I mean, pardon?

I'm not beautiful at all. I mean, look at my face!”

She let go of his hands and looked down with disgrace.

What in the world do you mean?” asked the prince, appalled.

Of all the girls I've ever met, you're the most beautiful of all.

I love the way you giggle and how you never boast.

You're gorgeous on the inside, and that's what matters most.”

Sophie, the Magnificent Ball-Playing Spider

Sophie knew she was different as soon as she was exposed to the basketball court. Ever since then, her life has been contented by the hope and promise of another game after school's done.

She never has trouble with volunteers to be on her team but finding her opponents is a completely different story.

More times than not, this happens. The other team runs away at the sight of her. Poor Sophie...

Home of the Mousies

This is the Mousey residence. They just moved in this month and they love visitors so stop by anytime!

Teeny and Tiny

These two Elephants are Teeny and Tiny. Tiny has a little man resting on his trunk much to his surprise. When I drew his eyes, I realized he had to be looking down for some reason and that's where the little man comes in.
Teeny is walking away so the little man must have insulted him in some way...Elephants are very proud creatures you know.

Henry the Dragon

This is Mark Kistler style dragon. His name is Henry and he's enjoying the warmth of the sun in his high climate. He's a very easy-going dragon and the friendliest of his family. So I felt he deserved a picture of his very own.

Make Cupcakes Not War

This is also for my "Cupcake" trade. I found the saying somewhere and as soon as I saw it I cracked up! So I've been storing it in the back of my brain until the appropriet time arose for its use.

I really liked the cup part. I water colored the cup by wetting my brush and taking the color right off the WC pencil. For the lighter stripes I colored a white line with the WC pencil right on the drawing so it would stand out a little more.

Cupcake Love

When I signed up for my "Cupcake" ATC trade I knew I wanted to make little cartoon ones with faces and as I drew them, I decided to make them hold hands. Then I put a heart around them and loved it.

And for extra effect, I put a pattern to outline them (two dots, one line). So here it is! I think it's my favorite card that I've made so far!

Another "Squiggle Trade" with my mom...

Vintage Boots

My mom and I were trying to decide what we wanted to draw yesterday when I told her we should both just draw a squiggle and trade cards and build on that squiggle.

When my mom handed my my card it reminded me of boots and then I just started adding things on it making "Vintage Boots"

Below, you can see I've whited-out the line that my mom origanally drew. If you go to her blog, you can see the line that I origanally drew on her card.

My Kind of Pyramid

The scanner made the colors paler. On the real card all of the peices of paper are neon.

This was a lot of fun to make. I was constructing a poster of the Periodic Table Books of the Bible while watching Harry Potter movies 2, 4, and 5 (awesome movies BTW). I used my left over paper scraps and this is what it turned into.

Life is Colorful

This was a doodle that I started on the way home from seeing Dark Night in the movie theatre.

By the time I got home my doodle told me it wanted a cute little message to tie it all together and a wide variety of color. It got it's wishes.

Elephant

Here's my watercolor elephant. It didn't turn out quite right but he's OK. I don't think it turned out like a total disaster, it's just not quite right....My mom likes him so I decided not to throw him away.

Trees by the Riverside

This turned out to be a lot lighter than the actual card I made but it'll do.

I was trying for an oriental look and this is what I got. But that's OK, pracctice makes perfect...

Gotta Start Somewhere

This is the very first Art Trading Card that I've made. It was so much fun to make because there is really no point to all this randomness and I usually have a point to everything.

So this was just for pure pleasure and I loved every minute of making it! I think my favorite part to draw was the farm and animals.

Pet Rocks & Beanie Babies

This is a shelf in my room hanging from my door knob to the attic. The shelf used to hold boxes of tes bags but now contains all those little beanie babies that you would get in a McDonald Happy Meal. On top, rests all the little painted pet rocks that I made last year. It was a whole lot of fun to draw.

This picture are EDMs #44 (Draw an animal - a pet, a zoo animal, a stuffed one...) and #199 (Draw some rocks)

I drew this sketch while my mom was reading me a really boring book on African history.

This is my drawing for EDM 137 "Something you can turn on or off".
