Munch, munch, munch.

Munch, munch, munch. by Emmy Cheeseburger

The little black-hole-ish things look like open mouths to me. Their tongues stick out with tastebuds on the edge! Don't see it? But they're eating the leaves. They're eating...the leaves...you don't see it? But, they're...nevermind.

Feathered

"AAAAAGH!!" That's what comes to mind as I remember drawing this tangle. The feather never stopped cruelly taunting me with its difficulty. Do you know how hard it is?? Try it. I dare you. I double-dog dare you.

In one ear and out the other

Drawing this tangle made me dizzy.

Portrait #9

9 of 100 portraits are complete! I decided that every tenth picture, I want to draw a famous person. I accepted the suggestion of Westley from the Princess Bride. We found a picture of confusion as Westley lies, strapped to the torture device. "It's the pit of despair. Don't even..." *hack hack* "Don't even think about escaping."

Sushi? SHUSHI?

";You think this is about sushi??" - Monster's Inc.
I tasted my first sushi. It feels...memorable. So memorable that I STILL get sick thinking about it. Yup, that good. I officially, strongly dislike seafood of all types. Most people would argue that tuna sandwiches and fish sticks aren't seafood. I would agree! If they classified as real seafood, I wouldn't like it!

Some musicians from Chicago joined us at Campus Church and we had an awesome time.

Fever!

I'm not sure what came over me. My comp I teacher asked me to sing a line from my favorite song in class. So I belted out the first couple'a lines. Afterward my classmate walked out with me and said, "I was sittin there and thought, 'Oh man, she's singing!'" I felt just as surprised.

Strangers in the Night

I experienced my first, official bat-fright. I laugh every time I look at this page in memory of my frantic reactions. Boy, afterward I thought this was hilarious but at the time I almost peed my pants from fear. Pure fear. While pinning the bat to my wall with my broom and said to my mom with a quaver in my voice, "This will make a great journal page."

Wed - Sat

While packing this summer, Jon and I found a strange little recorder-like instrument. I learned to play "Concerning Hobbits" on it and felt pretty pleased with myself. Watermelon Days was held in Fayette that week also. I sat for two caricatures and an "arm" painting. The fireworks at dusk were marvelous as always!

Feebee's Birthday Circus

I haven't logged on and played with my blog in ages! Our scanner is acting like a big baby and won't play nice. I told myself I wouldn't use my camera for blog posts but I'm not sure I have much choice now.

Kickin Down the Cobblestone...

Family Camp unveiled!

There was so much that happened during family camp that it deserved its own time line (too bad we can't read the little words but they were hard enough to read in person let alone a picture). Now My Moleskine is bursting at the seems! I love it! :)

Day after day, after day, after day, after...

Everyday that week dragged on. Endless humidity.

Children's Church

All of us Eichelbergers (that still live under the same roof) help with children's church when it's our week in the rotation. Thus, we have been named, The E-Team. We each have a job. I start with songs, then my brother and my dad have a puppet show for the kids, my mom then has a lesson. Finally we have crafts, and if there's still time...a game or two.

Harry Potter

I'm taking a course by the Teaching Company called, "The Art of Reading". I absolutely love it. We talk about the authors, the narrators, the writing style and how that lets you see into the minds of the characters....Then there's story vs. plot. All good stuff! All this is to say, I thought I liked Harry Potter before...now it's the "subject of common interest" (a quote from the book, "Cheaper by the Dozen". If you haven't read it, pick it up! It's excellent. So many laughs!) Whew! I'm a bit long winded today.

The piggie was really cute! Except for the umbilical cord that was hanging out...blech

I've lost my marbles

Have you seen the movie, Hook? With Robin Williams? And Tootles goes around on his hands and knees "looking for his marbles"?

[Pointy] things go [poke] in the night

This one took for-e-ver...for-e-ver...for-e-ver......Has anyone seen the Sandlot or do I just look like a doofus right now?

Chopsticks

I love chopsticks. If I could eat soup with chopsticks, I would! So when i saw a beautiful wooden set at the kitchen kitchen store...I had to have them. Just had to.

But all she had was a bit of Raspberry Cordial... - Anne Shirley

Anne of Green Gables has always been one of my favorites and she's just so funny! Anyway, the song in this tangle that I've quoted is my newest favorite! It's called Countdown by Josh Preston and I got it free off Amazon. It's kinda a silly song in that I don't actually know what it's talking about....but it's pretty :)

Pearls in the Leaves

I made this tangle on my mission trip to Mississippi to help rebuild houses for Katrina victims. I learned how install laminate and linoleum flooring! I was the woman with the utility knife ,which is now on my Christmas list, along with a table saw...

Raindrops keep fallin on my head

I love it when I Zentangle every where I go. With this tangle I was in a coffee shop and it makes it feel like something out of a book.

Peppermint

We have a saying in my house, "If someone offers you a breath mint, never refuse. Someone might be trying to tell you something."

Swollen Eye

An average day

Les Miserables

I was asked just out of the blue by the Bicknese family to accompany them to see Les Miz the next day. I couldn't say no! I had the most wonderful time. I absolutely loved it.

A ...lily by any other name

Water color made mostly of color and not so much water ;)

I was crying 'cause I couldn't get my shadow to stick. Besides, I wasn't crying.

An oil pastel that I made as a friend's Christmas present (but I haven't actually given it to his yet so ssshhh...).

Keep an Eye on it

An acrylic lizard with a rad eye!

Little Girl in a Big World

Multi media project where we had to come up with a brand new concept and execute it. I liked the idea of a girl in a prom dress seeing herself in a mirror as something else.

Itsy Bitsy Teensy Weensy Little Froggy

There's this song that we used to sing at Awana on special nights:
Itsy bitsy teensy weensy little froggie (repeat)
Likes to eat those teensy weensy bugs and spideys (repeat)
Hop, hop, hop, hop froggie hop (repeat)
Hop, hop, hop, hop froggie hop (repeat)
Ribbit, ribbit, ribbit yuuummm...(repeat)

Indian Wedding

It's called a 24 square. Well, mine's a 20 square.....
Half the squares are done in graphite, half in colored pencil.

Iowa? I could've sworn this was heaven.

Water color "scenes of Iowa" project.

Hoo's there?

Batik: A process of dying fabric in which you soak the material in melted wax, where you want it to stay that current color. Then you dip in dye (in stages of light to dark).

Isn't he cute? I have a thing for owls. Owls and elephants are my favorites.

Love's a weed, trust is rain - The Weepies

The Weepies are my favorite music group (that's alive). I have to clarify that, otherwise Frank Sinatra takes the hat. I used my favorite quote from their song "Takes So Long".

Oh me! Oh my! It's me!

Self portrait done! I finished this just in time to put it in my display yesterday for my project fair. The genuine interest was a bigger compliment than anything anyone said (although that was nice too).

Zentangle Date with Dawn

Friday, my mom and I had a date at the local diner with Dawn and finally started teaching her how to Zentangle!! It was a very exciting moment. I started this tangle that evening and just finished it this afternoon. Didn't think I was going to like it, but I'm fairly pleased.

Goal 1: Teach Dawn to Zentangle ☑
Goal 2: See Dawn make a complete tangle
Goal 3: Get Dawn a scanner
Goal 4: Start up her own art blog

First Entry in a New Book. Always makes me smile!

My friend, Dawn, gave me this cute little book last summer on our way to Mississippi. We were supposed to teach her how to Zentangle...but it turns out that there's very little time for art on a mission trip. My mom managed to turn something out everyday, and I'm just in awe.

Anyway, this is my very first entry in a book that I've had since summer. I love it! I love starting new books.

Monopoly

I'm a huge fan of Lord of the Rings. I'm also a huge fan of game nights. Combine the two and you get awesomeness!

Squishy, Stretchy Mice & Cheese

Yay for strange and random things that we find in Michael's! When my brother showed them to me, I just couldn't pass them up! Honestly. How many people do you know that can say they own stretchy mice and cheese? I'm willing to bet it's not a lot.

Jaidan's Bunny

Over top of the letters on the side, I put glitter glue and it looks really neat in person! If I do say so myself... :) This was my first White-on-White painting (if you can really give it a big title like that) and I just loved doing something different!
